SMALL GAS CAFE

Our final stop on this expedition. Small Gas Cafe, the calmest of these venues it shares a shop-lot's floor with  hair salon

BEVERAGES

small gas signature beverage- made striking with cotton candy- might seem reminiscent of a certain subang cafe's though this one is constructed with hot oat filled milk instead of coffee

Entertaining & reasonably enjoyable, especially since the contton candy isn't weirdly flavoured. At RM 5.90 the price is right
If you're not currently enlisted in the war on sugar, then this fizzy drink with colourful ice cubes made from carbonated beverages might satisfy your sweet tooth.

FUSION MEALS

Your perspective on small gas cafe menu will hinge on your tolerance for processed food waffle burgers with (probably) chicken patties & fried rice wrapped in omellette with saussage & sauce-smothered salad.

Bert's Cafe, U12 Shah Alam

You can just waze it. Later i'll give the link. As I reached the place , the sign is really big enough to not miss it. As it only had been open for 2 weeks. the deco is simple yet welcoming. it is a self-service kind of cafe. Means that you have to order at the counter first and pay for it. before seating. Some new cafes nowdays are using this kind of service. pay before you eat.

when i aarived there werw no customers yet. so it was a kinda a awkward walking alone in a cafe. luckily the staff were very friendly. welcoming me with a smile and intriducing the new menu that they've got at the moment. i was lucky to have meatball bologna as they had just prepared today. any my usual hot mocha.

.
The signboard. the cafe is situated on the side and not really at the back.

The self-service counter when you walk in. Loving the lights. They used mason jar.

KOPIMEO SHAH ALAM

where do they find the energy? power couple meor & leena might be expecting their third child within a matter of weeks, but they've already delivered one very healthy labour of love this month- a visually beguiling new cafe with bespoke chevron-patterned tables by Lin Furniture. open -terrarium plants & a children's play corner. stowed on a serence street in Shah Alam.

kopi's meo home run in terms of architectural flourishes ist't a suprise- the art & science of design are in meor & leena wheelhouse. but kopimeo also throws a few curveballs for its food-these meatless, moroccan- inflected baked egg eggs prove an interesting choice, with a beautiful base of chickenpeas & tomato stew that shuns cut-rate sausages & watery veggies RM16

kopimeo is part of the klang valley's rising wave of contemporary cafes that stem of Melbourne beloved breakfasts with a current of Malaysia-cherished recipes. sure, you can order cornflakes-crusted french toasts here, but it;s possible to take a break from that & try the lempeng instead, the local response to crepes, served with sambal bilis RM10

As many Mlaysian chefs know, fusion pasta the simple solution for everyone who wants to introduce East to west. But while we're rarely enamoured of rendang fettuccine & masala pnne, we were intrigued by this salted fish spaghetti with squid, bird's eye chilies, olive oil, herbs, capers, breadcrumbs & parmesan RM15 brunching in Shah Alam is abudgetary boon.

churrous are becoming as inescapable for cafe enthusiasts in2015 as Eggs Benedict were in 2013 & waffles were last year. kopimeo rolls out a respectable rendition with a chocolate dip (RM8) . It helps that the food here tastes conscientiously made, underscoring how kopimeo;s founders do seem to care about their customers- certainly not avirtue to be taken for granted.

Cake Jalan Tiung @ Shah Alam

Did shafinaz bake her way into Hidzad's heart? the former banker says she began brushing up on the art of creating cakes several years back because her beau had a sweet tooth- now blissfully married, the couple have unveiled Cake Jalan Tiung this month, fronting the charge in Shah Alam for the klang valley's current, onslaught of autrageously beautiful cake shops.

Check out the origami birds- pimped up in Cake Jalan Tiung's shades of blue, yellow & white- that float over the caounter & threaten to flutter out through the spacious first-floor cafe's lofty windows. You'll also be able to admire the awesome craf of Malaysian furniture makers like LAIN& Fine Grit Studio while basking in serence silence- the outlet hasn't purchased speakers to play music, so the sole soundtrack to your coffea break might be Hidzad intermittently chattering on his cellphone.

It's been less than three years since Shafinaz sold her first cake, but since then, you may encountered her red velvet cakes & root beer cupcakes in some of KL;s favourite cafes, from Empire Damansara's sevencups to Bnagsar South's Thirdwave & Taman Paramount;s Awesome Canteen. Or you may have ordered them directly from Cake Jalan Tiung;s previous baking base in Bukit Rabson. If not, it;s worth making the trip to their new cafe sacrcely a 15-minute drive from subang- for temptations like this nut-studded christiung applegate apple cake, available by the tall & thick slice (RM12)

From salted caramel to trple chocolate cakes, the cake spade lemon meringue to berry sue pavlova. Cake Jalan Tiung's treats taste like cakes should- fresh from the oven9 (in this case, a Taiwanese-made beast of a machiine that weighs more than an adult male gorilla), before a chiller saps them of their flavour & lushness. Shafinaz & her team of hard working elves currently can bake only 10 cakes per day, so come early or run the risk of pleading for crumbs.

FOODSBURY SECTION 9 SHAH ALAM

Probably too cutesy to be considered a hipster hot spot, but even the coolest cat might be charmed by the chirpiness of this child-friendly cafe.

Foodsbury is a pleasant shop-house eatery on the edge of a Shah Alam residential estate. Possibly worth the drive from KL; the food selection features sufficient temptations & the setting is conducive for at least an hour of chilling out.

Lamb carbonara (RM12), the top pasta pick. The spaghetti's well-executed, firm to the bite & flavorsome; the meat might look meager, but this is ultimately every ounce a hot, hearty meal, more than reasonable for the price.

Salted caramel mille-crepe topped with almonds (RM12), certifiably crowd-pleasing.

Hot blueberry cinnamon cake (RM8), less memorable, but that's OK; still lots of other stuff on the menu, including key lime pies & nutella pancakes.

Foodsbury puts a twist on its coffee-based beverages; this cappucino with goji berry extract & vanilla makes for a sweet choice in every sense.

The cafe loves coconut, so even the latte might come spiked with the flavor of that fruit

Foodsbury,
Wisma Faiz Azrina, 24, Jalan Tengku Ampuan Zabedah A9/A, Shah Alam.

For guidance, the prawns size A was as big as the palm. This noodle presentation is beautiful. There are 4 pine libster prepared for those who choose the size of c. kuah mee bandung is delicious. somewhat spicy and flavored beans in the broth. lobster taste is soft.

Nasi ambeng is also made up of white rice, fried noodles, fried chicken, soy sauce, fried chicken, salted fish and fish crackers. How to enjoy it is to mix all dishes together just in the mouth. eat rice and noodles simultaneously? To those who do noy usually eat this way might be weird. however, after you touch it, you will definitely want to eat again. its tastes mixed. there is salty, sweet, then mixed with a crunchy fish crackers. very appetizing,

TIJAARAH RESTAURANTSECTION 7 SHAH ALAM

Tijaarah Western Cuisine- start with bismillah

we love tagline by Tijaarah Restaurant. "start with bismillah", one of the restaurant that provide Halal Western food in Shah Alam. A varied western menu of the appertizer to the dessert menu and always crowded especially on week nights.

Appertizer for selection before main menu arrives. Interestingly, every menu at Tijaarah Restaurant is included with food pictures, so customers do not have to imagine the menu designs provide.

Delicious & Halal Menu in Tijaarah Restaurant Section 7 Shah Alam.

we chose the Fried onion ring as a snack for chewing while playing. Comes in a basket, still hot very open to taste to enjoy the main course that has been ordered.

While we are here, customers are still not crowded. so, the main course is bookedup the table in less than half an hour. Insyaallah, their service is also excellent during at large customer visit.

Grilled Ribeye menu with potatoes, stewed corn and mixed vegetables. we are complimented by the preparation of these (natural) potatoes and do not use artificial ingredients. The meat is tender and cooked full and mixed with blackpper mixed sauce, very satisfying.

The next menu is fried chicken chop with boiled corn, coleslow and fried potatoes. The chicken chop size here is also larger. The bbq sauce comes seperatr so that scoop of the fried flour is much longer. so, it is up to the customers to cut chicken chop little by & dipped into bbq sauce or just poured on the chicken chop. Insyaallah the two are delicious.

Our opinion, the menu provided in listen section 7 are very good at very reasonable prices for western food choices. if you come here and are not sure how to order a good menu, try the chef recommendation menu (there is a sticket in the menu book)
